Renovating Fire Station in Rolling Hills
The
Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved the
first phase of a project that will renovate fire and
lifeguard stations throughout the County.
Renovations are needed in over 90 of the County’s
fire and lifeguard stations to meet code
requirements and give female employees privacy when
sleeping, dressing, and changing. Twelve facilities
will be renovated in Phase 1 of the program,
including Fire Station 56 in Rolling Hills.
Continuing Funding for the PVPTA Shuttle Service
The Board of Supervisors approved the disbursement of $408,200 to the Palos Verdes Peninsula Transit Authority to continue public transit services for the Fiscal Year 2008-2009. The funds for the disbursement come from the Fourth Supervisorial District's allocation of Proposition A Local Return Transit Program funds.
Preventing Graffiti at South Coast Botanic Gardens
The South Coast Botanic Gardens on the Palos Verdes Peninsula will receive a new chain link fence along Rolling Hills Road and the horse trail. The Security Fencing Graffiti Prevention Project will increase security and make the garden less accessible to graffiti and vandalism. The estimated total project cost is $101,000, and is funded by Proposition A Competitive Excess Grant Funds in the amount of $85,000 with the remaining $16,000 coming from the South Coast Botanic Gardens Special Development Fund.
