Ray Harris is
responsible for
all County
transportation
issues,
including Fourth
District
constituent
issues, project
planning, and
funding through
the Los Angeles
County
Metropolitan
Transportation
Authority (MTA)
and other
government
agencies.
In 1966, Ray
took up a career
in public
service,
following a tour
with the United
States Army
Seventh Special
Forces. His
varied
experience
within the
public sector
includes
assignments with
the City of
Bellflower; the
Southern
California Rapid
Transit
District, in
government
relations; the
City of Hawaiian
Gardens, as city
manager; the
office of the
Speaker
Pro-Tempore; the
California State
Assembly, as a
chief of staff;
and the
Metropolitan
Transportation
Authority.
Ray grew-up in
the Norwalk
area, where he
attended
Whittier High
School, and
later graduated
from California
State
University, Los
Angeles. |
