Dickie Simmons
represents
Supervisor Knabe
in the cities of
La Habra Heights
and Diamond Bar,
and in the
unincorporated
communities of
Rowland Heights
and Hacienda
Heights. He is
also the
Supervisor's
liaison to the
Department of
Military and
Veteran Affairs.
He sits as the
Supervisors
representative
on the Puente
Hills Native
Habitat
Preservation
Authority, the
San Gabriel
Valley Council
of Governments,
the Four Corners
Transportation
Council and the
Wildlife
Conservation
Corridor
Authority.
Dickie was born
and raised in
Long Beach,
graduating from
Long Beach
Polytechnic High
School prior to
joining the U.S.
Marine Corps and
serving in Viet
Nam. Upon his
discharge, he
joined the Los
Angeles Police
Department where
he worked a
variety of
assignments
which included
patrol, juvenile
gang
enforcement,
investigative
and supervisory
positions. Dick
also received a
Bachelor of Arts
Degree from
California State
University
Fullerton. He
retired in March
1999 after
nearly 29 years
of service. His
last assignment
was in Harbor
Division which
serves the
Fourth
Supervisorial
District. He
began his new
career with the
Supervisor's
office
immediately
following his
retirement from
the LAPD.
Dickie and his
wife Lourdes
reside in the
Eastvale
Community of
Corona Valley,
where they are
raising their
two children.
His three adult
daughters from a
previous
marriage are all
living in the
same
neighborhood,
raising Dick’s
eight
grandchildren.
