Supervisor Knabe honors John A. "Cinco" Rowland, V in recognition of his retirement from the Rowland Water District after 43 years of dedicated service to the residents of Los Angeles County.

MAY 27, 2008 – Belize Consul General Presentation

Supervisor Knabe joins the Board of Supervisors in presenting a plaque to the Honorable Roy Young, Consul General of Belize and Dean of the Consular Corps, as he departs his post in Los Angeles.

MAY 22, 2008 – Patio Shelter Opening at Rancho

Supervisor Knabe joined the Rancho Foundation at the ribbon cutting of “The Patio” at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. The patio shelter will provide patients with shelter from the heat, cold and wind as they wait for their transportation to arrive after going to their clinic visit.

MAY 21, 2008 – Torrance Little League

Supervisor Knabe was recognized by Torrance American Baseball for the assistance Los Angeles County provided in helping the little league group reopen its snack shack. The Supervisor joined parents and players for the event and threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Supervisor Knabe joins Cynthia Banks, Director of Community and Senior Services, in honoring outstanding senior citizens from the Fourth District during Older Americans Month.

Supervisor Knabe presents a plaque to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and the Pointe Vicente Interpretive Center for their innovation and excellence in the area of design as recognized by the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District.

Supervisor Knabe recognized Lieutenant General Michael A. Hamel, Commander of the Space and Missile Systems Center, for 36 years of dedicated service to the Los Angeles Air Force Base.

Supervisor Knabe was the Master of Ceremonies at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium’s annual Grand Grunion Gala in San Pedro.

MAY 8, 2008 – Dominguez Gap Wetlands Grand Opening

Supervisor Knabe joined other local elected officials this week for the opening of the Dominguez Gap Wetlands in Long Beach. The $7 million treatment wetlands and spreading grounds project is the latest in a series of regional, multi-benefit projects implemented by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District.
