Celebration at the Kids’ Place children’s waiting room
20,000th Child’s Visit and 4th Anniversary
Thank you Judge Andrews. Since we opened this waiting room four
short years ago, 20,000 kids have come through these doors. Last
year alone, Kids’ Place had over 5,500 child visits. Thanks to Judge
Andrews and the Superior Court for funding the waiting room.
Thanks to Dr. Michele Winterstein and For The Child for operating
the waiting room. I was honored to participate in a small way by
providing my former field office as a space for this wonderful
place. Children are frequently brought to the courthouse for reasons
beyond their control. This waiting room provides children with a
safe and fun place to wait while their parent’s are taking care of
court business.
In 2002, this
waiting room was the first one in the County; since then, five
additional children’s waiting rooms have been opened using this as
model. That is a testament to the good work we began here and has
continued ever since
