Introduction of Adobe
CEO Bruce Chizen
It is my honor to introduce today’s Keynote Speaker, the Chief
Executive Officer of Adobe, Mr. Bruce Chizen.
In 1994, after holding several successful positions at Mattel,
Microsoft and Claris, Bruce came on with Adobe.
Not a bad move by Adobe if you ask me.
He served as the Vice President and General Manager of the
professional graphics division and Adobe’s consumer division.
He then moved up to Executive Vice President of Worldwide Products
and Marketing.
Finally in 2000 he was promoted to the position of CEO, and neither
he nor Adobe has looked back.
Bruce’s vision of focusing on the Customer has transformed Adobe
into one of the largest and most diversified software companies in
the world.
Since his rise to CEO in 2000, Adobe’s revenue has doubled to $2
Billion.
Under his leadership, Adobe recently acquired rival, Macromedia
Inc., effectively doubling their customer base.
And, from what I hear, Adobe is not a bad place to work either.
Under Bruce’s tenure, Adobe has consistently ranked near the top of
Fortune Magazine’s annual report on the “100 Best Companies to Work
for.”
His leadership has taken a company that before was known mainly for
its popular design products and turned it into one of the most
significant forces in the software industry today.
On a personal note – I have a recent connection and appreciation of
the products provided by Adobe.
Recently we went through a ground-up redesign and re-launch of knabe-dot-com,
the Fourth District website.
We sought to create an engaging and interactive experience for our
website visitors – and the rich internet software of Adobe allowed
us to do exactly that.
The result today is a website provides a distinctive user experience
-- uniquely tailored to the needs of the individual online visitor.
The inventiveness of Adobe played an important part in getting us
there.
I can’t think of anyone better to help Kick-Off Los Angeles County
Technology Week Please help me welcome today’s Keynote Speaker, CEO
of Adobe, Mr. Bruce Chizen.
