Long Beach Memorial Center 100th Anniversary

Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s Hospital provide vital services to the Long Beach community, and I’m pleased to be here to commemorate the past 100 years.

We are living in a time of change in the fourth district.
I’ve fought to keep a number of hospitals open, but we still have lost several emergency rooms and hundreds of inpatient beds in the past decade as private hospitals have shut down.

Today, I’m pleased to be at an event that signifies growth and prosperity for the health care community in Long Beach.
Physicians and hospitals continually refer their most difficult cases to Long Beach Memorial, and hundreds of health care professionals have come from across the country to learn advanced techniques from the staff here.

I commend you all for being leaders in your field.
For a century, Long Beach Memorial has been here to ensure longer, healthier lives for families of all ages, in all stages of their lives.

The facility’s history is told with tiny miracles, technological advances, and the dedication of thousands of health professionals who never lose sight of their mission: to ensure our communities have world-class care close to home.

I take pride in representing this community, and our community takes pride in Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s Hospital.

With an outstanding history of innovation, medical advances and national recognition, Long Beach Memorial truly sets the standard of excellence.
