Public Comment Sought for Revised Termino Avenue Storm Drain Project

A 45-day public comment period for the revised Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) relating to the Termino Avenue Storm Drain Project in Long Beach will begin on Thursday, March 1, 2007, and conclude on Monday, April 16, 2007.

Because of the broad community interest in this project, Supervisor Knabe has made the 566 page Draft EIR available at his website at www.Knabe.com. In addition, hard copies of the report will be available for review at the following locations:

County of Los Angeles
Department of Public Works

900 South Fremont Avenue

City of Long Beach Main Library

Long Beach, CA 90822

Brewitt Neighborhood Library

Some of our residents might have difficulty getting to the library during business hours, said Supervisor Knabe. Our website is a great way to get this information to them on an extremely important public works project going on in their community.

There will also be two public meetings held in March to solicit input from the community on the content of the Draft EIR. The first meeting will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the following location:

Lowell Elementary School Auditorium

5201 East Broadway

Long Beach, CA 90803

The second meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the following location:

Jefferson Leadership Academies Auditorium

750 Euclid Avenue

Long Beach, CA 90804
