Since April of 2013, the County of Los Angeles has been engaged in the last part of a three-step agreement between the Board of Supervisors and the California Coastal Commission for planning efforts in Marina del Rey. The Marina del Rey visioning process is a project by the Department of Regional Planning (DRP) to develop a vision for Marina del Rey for the next 20 years. Supervisor Knabe recently cut the ribbon on a new exercise equipment at Cerritos Regional Park. While other jurisdictions struggle to pay the most basic bills, Los Angeles County is able to invest in our parks and provide the amenities that really matter to the quality-of-life of our residents.

Supervisor Knabe joined Metro officials and Whittier residents for the ground breaking of approximately 3 miles of soundwalls on the northbound and southbound sides of the I-605 freeway. The soundwalls will run from north of Slauson Avenue to south of Obregon Street in the City of Whittier and unincorporated County areas.

Lorraine is the current 2010/ 2011 Western United States Silver Gloves Champion and California State Champion; and George Acosta is the 2010/2011 California State Runner Up for the Silver Gloves Championship.
