The City of La Habra Heights celebrated the dedication of a brand new dormitory at the La Habra Heights Fire Station on June 10, 2010.

Supervisor Knabe helped break ground on the Wilmington Drain Project. This project is a perfect example of the Department’s commitment to creating sustainable, multi-benefit projects that our constituents are seeking. The final result will transform the Wilmington Drain from an unusable Flood Control facility, that looks like a swamp during a storm, to a project that not only improves flood protection, but also enhances water quality.

Supervisor Knabe joined local officials to celebrate the opening of the new Lifeguard Station and Bathroom Facility at El Segundo Beach.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Supervisor Knabe joined firefighters and ABC 7 at the annual Spark of Love event in Norwalk. Foster children and parents were treated to a movie, lunch, a holiday toy and photos with Santa Claus. Since 1993, the Spark of Love program has distributed over 2 million toys and has staged parties for our foster children during the holiday season.

Supervisor Knabe reads a book to children at Mayne Street Preschool in Bellflower. The Bring Me A Book Foundation and Southern California Edison donated bookshelves filled with children’s books to two preschools in Bellflower.
